7th Annual "They Are Worthy"
SWC Benefit Softball Tournament,
San Francisco, July 17 &18, 2004

SWC's 7th annual "They are Worthy" Benefit Softball Tournament, held in San Francisco on July 17 and 18 at Jackson Playground and Moscone Park, was a great success. Over $2,000 was raised for SWC programs and some great sports equipment donations were collected from participating players and teams.

A total of 12 coed teams and 3 men's teams participated. The 12 coed teams were divided into a 6-team upper (comp) division and 6-team lower (rec) division. Each team played 3 other teams (randomly drawn) from their respective division. The top four teams from each division made the single elimination finals.

Although the tournament didn't draw as many men's teams as last year, all 3 men's teams agreed to participate to support the charitable cause. The men's division was a double round robin with a guarantee of 4 games, and one final/championship game.

Congratulations to all champions, all MVPs and All Stars, and ALL participating teams, for making this year's tournament our most successful one yet. All funds raised will go directly to providing children with much needed sports equipment, skills training, and mentoring programs.
