16th Annual "They Are Worthy"
Benefit Softball Tournament,
Daly City, July 13 & 14, 2013
SWC's 16th annual "They are Worthy" Benefit Softball Tournament was held in Daly City on July 13 and 14 at Westlake Park. Over $2,000 was raised, and many donations of sports equiment were collected from participating players and teams, all for SWC youth programs.
A total of 4 men's teams and 5 coed teams participated in the weekend event. ALL teams in ALL divisions divisions were guaranteed 2 games.
Championship teams were awarded SWC bags (which can be purchased here) and MVP prizes, and All Stars from ALL participating team were also awarded a choice of prizes ranging from passes to local attractions, gift bags, and gift cards to restaurants, grocery stores, sporting goods stores, and cafes. In all, more than $700 worth of prizes were awarded to teams and eligible players!
Our event raffle is ONGOING until August 5, 2013, with a GRAND PRIZE of a 4-day, 3-night, fishing trip in MEXICO (courtesy Baja Pirates)! Tickets are only $1, and allow us to raise further needed funds for our programs for kids. Other prizes include local attraction passes, live musical theater tickets, complimentary dinners, San Francisco Giants tickets and memorabilia, Oakland Athletics tickets, and other gift certificates and gift cards!
Congratulations to all champions, MVPs and All Stars, and thanks to ALL teams for your participation and support. All funds raised will go directly to providing deserving children with much needed sports equipment, skills training, and mentoring programs (see where we've worked here).
