Our efforts in Mexico and Uganda continue! Our storage units are currently filled to the rafters with equipment ready to be delivered and/or shipped out to deserving children in need. Can you help? A $68 tax-deductible donation will provide complete soccer uniforms (excluding shoes) to an entire girls' team in Uganda. A photo of the team in their uniforms will be personally mailed to you once the uniforms have been delivered. To donate, click here for our Support page.

SWC's 15th annual "They are Worthy" Benefit Softball Tournament, held in Daly City on July 14 and 15, 2012, at Westlake Park., was a great success. Approximately $1,800 was raised and donations of sports equipment were collected from participating players and teams, all to support SWC's "Communities Play" program. More Info & Results

SWC Benefits Youth After School Program
CHICAGO IL, March 25, 2011 SWC provided much needed sports equipment to the Heritage After School Program at Youth Crossroads, a nonprofit based in Berwyn IL. The program serves at-risk middle school students, ages 11-14, and provides life skills training, recreational activities, positive adult mentors, and academic assistance at no cost. SWC Benefits Girls' Softball Program
PARLIER CA, February 28, 2011 SWC provided much needed softball equipment to the recently established Predator Softball Program at the Youth Centers of America, a nonprofit based in Parlier CA. The program serves girls from low income families, ages 6-16, in six Fresno and Fresno County communities for a minimal cost of $20 per participant (covering only the league fee). More Info

SWC Benefits Program for Underserved Girls
ALBUQUERQUE NM, June 11, 2010 SWC provided much needed sports equipment to the TechGYRLS Camp program at the YWCA Middle Rio Grande, a nonprofit based in Albuquerque NM. The program serves girls in the Albuquerque area, ages 9-13, of which one in four lives in poverty. The goals of the program include developing communication and teamwork, building self confidence, and promoting good health and activity. More Info

SWC Travels to Uganda to Support Girls' Soccer
In June of 2007, the Africa Youth Ministries submitted a Needs Application requesting sports equipment donations from SWC, as they have been trying to integrate sports into their HIV/AIDS, drug, teen pregnancy, and street kids education programs. Since then, we had been trying to find an opportunity to travel to Uganda during on of their sports programs in order to research their needs, in the hopes of possibly organizing a future volunteer trip to Uganda to distribute equipment...

Major League Baseball Grant Supports SWC
Sports for the World's Children is pleased to announce that it recently received a grant from The Baseball Tomorrow Fund to support its work. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is a joint initiative between Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association.
"Major League Baseball and its players are committed to increasing youth participation in baseball," said Cathy Bradley, Executive Director of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund. "The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is proud to support organizations such as Sports for the World's Children that are committed to establishing programs that provide quality baseball/softball experiences for youth throughout the world."
