10th Annual "They Are Worthy"
Benefit Softball Tournament,
San Francisco, July 14 & 15, 2007
SWC's 10th annual "They are Worthy" Benefit Softball Tournament, held in San Francisco on July 14 and 15 at Moscone Recreation Center, was a great success. Approximately $2,700 was raised and hundreds of pounds of sports equipment donations were collected from participating players and teams, all for SWC programs.
A total of 11 coed teams and 9 men's teams participated. The 11 coed teams were divided into a 5-team lower rec division double elimination bracket with special consolation game, ensuring a minimum of 3 games for each team, and a 6-team upper rec division that participated in random pool play with the top 2 teams going to the finals. The D/DD/C men's teams participated in a double elimination bracket, but with a special consolation bracket ensuring a minimum of 3 games. ALL teams in ALL divisions were guaranteed 3 games.
Prizes included T-shirts for championship teams, MVP and All Star prizes, and many others, including raffe prize opportunities for ALL players just for entering the tournament!
Congratulations to all champions, all MVPs and All Stars, and ALL participating teams, for making this year's tournament the most successful yet! All funds raised will go directly to providing derserving children with much needed sports equipment, skills training, and mentoring programs.
